Complete the hunt for the Good Boy in the EDZ

Archie returns to Destiny 2 with a trip to the EDZ following the May 7, 2024, weekly reset.

This is the latest in a series of “Where in the System is Archie” quests in the wake of the Into the Light update — which are being staggered out week-by-week in the lead up to The Final Shape.

Note this quest expires on the May 14 weekly reset, and will be replaced by another Archie quest in a new location (the following week sees Archie on the Moon). Provided you complete any Archie quest before the arrival of The Final Shape, you’ll get your hands on the Blue Steel shader, while the lore for all Archie quests will be available from June 4 on.

How to start ‘Where in the EDZ is Archie?’ in Destiny 2

To start the latest “Where is Archie” quest, head to the Tower’s Annex and find the footprints. For future reference, this is where you’ll find the beginning of every Archie quest each week.

You can reach this location by using the southwest-most fast travel point, then traveling straight ahead down the corridor. The paw prints will appear on the ledge to your right.

Investigate the prints and go talk to Ada-1 (found in the Annex proper opposite) to start the latest quest.

Now, head to the EDZ, and speak to vendor Devrim Kay in his usual spot in Trostland’s church. Once done, the search begins.

All Archie EDZ locations

Here is where to find Archie in the EDZ, clue-by-clue.

‘Archie heard about some feathers behind a fireplace. He’s hoping to find a glowing bird’ location

The first clue refers to a fireplace not far from Devrim’s location. Head east from the Trostland church, and you’ll see this building on the corner.

Long time Destiny 2 players will remember this as a key location in the Hawkmoon quest — which is what the glowing bird in the clue refers to.

Leap up to the second floor of this building to find the paw prints in front of the fireplace. Investigate to get the next clue.

Thankfully, the next spot isn’t too far away.

‘Archie heard Guardians have picked up a chill new hobby called “fishing” and went to check it out’ location

You’ll find this location on the south coast of Outskirts. The easiest way to find this is to head to the Winding Cove fast travel point, then go east along the coast to the following point on the map:

Investigate the paw prints for another clue.

It’s time to find a big ship.

‘Archie heard about a “ship full of tanks and space rhinos” and decided to go take a look’ location

This clue refers to Skydock IV, which is in the northwest part of the EDZ. Use the Sunken Isle fast travel point, then head towards the interior of the huge ship to the west.

Just before you enter the ship proper, you’ll spot the paw prints.

Investigate for the final clue.

Time to head to a Beyond Light favorite, The Dark Forest.

‘Archie’s last stop. He heard some Guardians talking about “the place where we reclaimed the Light” and some cool floating rocks there’ location

For this final clue, you need to first head to The Sludge.

From the fast travel point, go west (keeping the wall to your right) and you’ll soon notice a path leading north, taking you through a stream and into some caves.

Follow the water until you come across a jammer. It blocks your path and has an on-screen icon, so you shouldn’t miss it.

Investigate the base to disable the jammer. Doing so opens up a Taken portal. Leap inside. You now repeat this process — finding and disabling the jammers, fighting or avoiding enemies as you go — until you reach an arena with Archie and a handful of foes.

The aim here is to take down the shielded Centurion. With enough damage, more jammers will come online, which require disabling before the Centurion can be fought again.

Once done, Archie is free. Offer “pawsitive reinforcement” (Bungie’s words, not ours — we cannot take credit), then revisit Ada back in the Tower to complete the quest.

As well as 10 Trophy of Bravery — useful for getting more Brave weapons — you’ll also receive Devrin’s mug. Whether you keep it is up to you!

Remember, another “where is Archie” quest will appear next week following the weekly reset. Until then, if you’re looking for more to do in the Into the Light update, you can take on Pantheon bosses, complete “The Whisper,” find Oracle locations, and upgrade Whisper of the Worm with Taken Blights.
