Hades, the supremely successful Roguelike from the team at Supergiant Games, is discounted to its lowest price ever on Steam through May 13. Available for $24.99 at launch, you can currently pick up a copy for just $8.49, which coincidentally, is just about 66.6% off. Following a brief technical test, the Early Access launch for Hades 2 is likely right around the corner, which makes this an ideal opportunity to get acquainted with the underworld.

In Hades, players take on the role of Zagreus, prince of the titular realm of the underworld, as he attempts to fight his way to the surface and escape the oppressive rule of his father. During his quest, Zagreus will be aided by perhaps the thirstiest version of the Greek Pantheon we’ve ever seen. You’ll need all the help you can get as you attempt to claw your way through the shifting labyrinths of Hades, Asphodel, Tartarus, and beyond.

Your quest is epic, your enemies are legion, and you aren’t expected to survive. But thankfully, in hell, death is just a learning experience. Every time you meet your demise, you’ll return home with the knowledge you’ve gained, slowly growing your abilities and allowing you to inch your way toward the top.

Even if you’ve already played our 2020 Game of the Year, this deal is the perfect excuse to gift a copy of one of the best roguelikes ever developed.

The next level of puzzles.

Take a break from your day by playing a puzzle or two! We’ve got SpellTower, Typeshift, crosswords, and more.
